This pair of playful spots for Trolli Extreme Sour Bites aims to embody the immediate taste and juvenile feeling of biting into the infamously flavorful gummy candies. As such, there’s a bit of camp and clunkiness to the over-stimulated pace and eccentric visuals.

The first, “Dino Trip,” is designed around a creature character realized entirely through old-school stop motion animation. There’s a bit of rough-around-the-edges Harryhausen-style jerkiness to the dinosaur’s handcrafted motion, complete with some semi-mismatched lighting and dodgy compositing, which is completely intentional, of course.

“Sour Tooth” is a technically simpler spot, highlighted by a mouth-opening doorway gag and a giant hyperactive talking tooth. The hinged-mouth door and tooth character are CG creations, with the rest being 2D effects, clean-up, and compositing.
